This week continuing on the topic of faith, we will look at how God our father exemplified faith. Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible”
God spoke everything into existence through faith and we as his children should follow in His footsteps, we can create the world we want by simply believing, confessing and taking bold steps of faith. Faith should not be our last resort after we have tried and failed but the first step we take in everything.
There are various characteristics of faith. Offering is an integral part of demonstrating our faith. Sacrificial giving is an act of faith. This step of faith triggers the hand of God to move on our behalf.
Hebrews 11:4 says “By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks. “
God accepted Abel’s offering but not Cain’s, why? Abel gave his best, the firstling of his flock and the fat, while Cain just gave from what he harvested. There are different levels of giving and not every offering is accepted by God. Therefore if we want God to accept our offerings of faith, it must be significant and it must cost us something.
