Continuing the teaching on receiving help from above, this week we talk about the part we must play to experience that heavenly help.
God is great and powerful but he cannot help us beyond the limits we set in place. Our mindset and the quality of the life we live will ultimately determine if our help will come or if it will be hindered.
Heaven cannot help us except there is help from within, meaning there must be a change of mind first. The help of God is already within us, but if the mind is not changed, that help will not be activated or effective, help only comes as a result of a transformed mind, God does not waste resources.
Jesus said in Matthew 9:17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.
We cannot maintain our old mindsets, lifestyle, attitudes and behaviors that are contrary to the will and statutes of God and expect His helping hand, our minds must be transformed first for God to move.
