The Laws of Confession

In today’s message, we will be learning more about the power of the tongue. Confessions rule the realm of the spirit, therefore we will only possess what we confess. Words are powerful, they govern and shape our world, and the current state of our lives is a result of what we have been confessing. Here are a few factors we need to resolve as human beings.

Man’s problem is neither money nor the devil, it is our confession.

There is a clear distinction between fact and truth, the fact may be you were born poor or unhealthy but the truth is; you are rich and full of life, this is where our confession plays an integral part, you declare what you want to see in your life as the word of God has promised. Just as God is a speaking spirit, man is the second speaking spirit therefore if we are going to live a fulfilled and successful life, we must always affirm what God says and not what our circumstance is dictating.

Your word is the totality of your person.

A man cannot be separated from his words, you are what you say. John 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Just as God and his words are one, we are one with our words also. We cannot escape our confessions, whatever we say will happen, and we cannot confess one thing and expect another. No matter the prophecies or confessions made over our lives by men of God or others, what we confess with our own mouth is what will ultimately shape our destiny.

Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. You are your confession therefore be mindful what you say.
