The Spirit of Praise

Last week we talked about understanding the miraculous power of God’s presence. The first dimension was thanksgiving and today we’ll be looking at the second dimension, praise.

Praise

Thanksgiving always precedes praise, thanksgiving brings us to God’s presence but praise keeps us in His presence. Through praise you daily dwell in God’s presence and you carry that presence around with you. But you cannot be full of praise if you are not thankful. Only those who are grateful and thankful for all that God has done understand the need to give God praise always.

Praise brings us into the throne room of God, Psalm 100:4 says Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name” The throne room is the presence of God, where God meets and communes and speaks audibly to us. You will be in line with God’s perfect will for your life as he gives you directions daily. Your life will be easy and fulfilled.

Praise also releases mercy. Every time the presence of God is drawn down into an atmosphere through praise, it comes with mercy. If we live our lives without the mercy of God we will be operating under closed heavens and we experience hardships, failures, setbacks and disappointments. When the heavens are closed we struggle, but when we praise God through every situation, we open up the floodgates of heaven and God rains his mercy, love and grace down upon us.

If you want to see God move in your life like never before, praise Him more than you petition in prayer.
