Help From Above

This week the focus is receiving the Help of God in every area of our lives. We will agree that we cannot sail through this life alone. No matter how blessed, educated or gifted we are, we will always need the help of others and this help does not come if God does not orchestrate it.

God wants us to be totally dependent on him, but sadly in today’s world we have become too self-sufficient and highly knowledgeable that we believe we can do all things by ourselves. We rely on our intellect, ability, resources and our fellow men to be of help to us but forget the most important helper, God.

God should not be our last resort after things do not go according to plan. The reason why most of our plans don’t work out or why we get disappointed by someone we relied on could be as a result of not consulting God in the first place because if God does not help us, no man can.

David said in Psalms 121 vs. 1-2 “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

He understood that only God could help him. He has the key to every man’s heart in his hands and can direct it however he wishes. Therefore instead of seeking help from men, seek God’s help and  He will direct men to work in your favor.
